Whitsunday Drive Landslip Remediation
Whitsunday Regional Council
$1.4M
Allciv provided Construction Management, Project Engineering, Design Management and Site Supervision services for this project.
During February 2008 a significant portion of Whitsunday Drive slipped as a result of heavy rains. The Whitsunday Regional Council acted as the Principal Contractor for these works. Allciv directly controlled the works, and where possible maximized the use of Whitsunday Regional council personnel and assets, with the balance of the required equipment and labour sourced from the local region.
The project intent was to move the roadway approximately three metres into the hill to ensure that both traffic lanes are founded on natural ground, and not a cut / fill line which may have contributed to the failure.
